The katana comes with the Ash of War "Transient Moonlight,” which essentially is the “Unsheathe” Ash of War with an extended area of effect because of a moon beam that shoots out of the katana after unsheathing. It's still pretty damn OP - they nerfed the crazy posture damage on the weapon art, but it still does tons of damage for its speed/range/FP cost - but there's no reason not to use it if you think it's cool. Compare to DMGS directly, the main difference is that AOW damage cannot be buffed by Godfrey Icon. Bottomline, DMGS for fights that would end fast (e.g getting all the charged attack in without break).
