blast radius doesn't increase the "radius" it actually increases the blast dmg vs impact dmg--more blast radius = higher blast dmg, less impact dmg. That's why if you have a spike grenade, you want to decrease your blast radius any way you can because the impact dmg goes up which means the % from spike is a larger increase.
