It's one of those weapons that's a noob trap, imo. People get stuck on using the ranged attack as a crutch, while the actual katana moveset is extremely versatile and is, in tandem with the ranged attack, the key to being really skilled with it. I'm pretty sure the only thing that changed with Moonveil is that it's poise damage was slightly decreased in PvP only . Should be exactly the same in PvE. Also, a ton of weapons had poise damage nerfed in PvP, not just katanas. So, effectively, most weapons weren't really nerfed. It's more like poise got a buff, as well as a few weapon classes ...Moonveil is really fast to use and does great damage. The nerf hasn’t changed that in the slightest.
