Godsclaw passage for example is ripe with resources, close to good thralls and close to an obelisk. The purges are pretty good too, you get lots and lots and lots of juicy thralls coming your way, nordheimers. 2.
As you're a new player, your main base should be in an area that will experience level 1 or 2 purges, for now. That means the south desert and the river east to the jungle. You can always build a bigger one later, after you have some experience and materials stored up. I think priority one should be to be near an obelisk.General.
